About Me
Koh Samui Property Agent John Jepson
There are so many so called property specialists on Koh Samui. Most however do not have the experience they claim. And many have not much idea of how to deal with the more complex legal ownership options. Some are more concerned with commission than safety of their clients money. There are no qualifications required to sell property in Thailand. Koh Samui is full of people looking to make a quick buck in the real estate game.
Great Advice for would be buyers
My advice is to be careful. Please don’t rely on the nicely furnished office, comfortable sofa or the flashy new white Fortuna car to make your choice of agent. I have seen many people lose deposits at the hands of greedy developers or brokers.
What makes me sure I can help
What makes me certain that I can help you is that we have been supporting our clients successfully now for over 12 years. We carry out investigations on all the projects we advertise. And through our own experience and knowledge can help guide you to the right path. When we don’t advertise a property or project there is on some occasions a good reason for this. We use our local network of people to check what we sell. Hopefully this makes sure you are buying something that works well and offers you the best result.
We can recommend certain lawyers. One such is NSP Laws to help make sure your purchase is legally sound. There are several necessary steps to check and confirm before signing a contract or parting with deposit money. I am experienced enough to tell you what steps to follow and what not to do. I can explain in layman’s terms how to go about a purchase. We alway recommend that you engage a lawyer first before committing to anything. The lawyer will check the title deeds, road access, rights of ownership, contract terms and generally make sure you are buying something of value.
My experience and career history
I am originally from the UK and have been working in Thailand for about 15 years. For the majority of that time I have been selling property on Koh Samui. I have certainly learned from experience. In my own personal life these experience have galvanised my approach to property investment. I am extremely careful when looking after my clients and their investment. Many times people forget that purchasing a property is a life changing experience. So everything needs to be considered in advance of signing a property purchase contract.
I was originally an accountant (CIMA qualified) in the UK and moved to Thailand working for Alan Dick Telecommunications. I am married and live in Bophut, Koh Samui.
